Terms of Service

These terms apply to your use of the Fern app and the fernpet.app website. By joining the waitlist, downloading the app, or using the service, you agree to them.

Not veterinary advice

Fern is a tool for organizing your pet's health records and reminders. It is nota substitute for professional veterinary care and does not provide medical diagnosis or treatment. Reminders and insights are based on the information you enter. Always consult a licensed veterinarian for your pet's health, and seek emergency care when needed.

Your responsibilities

• Provide accurate information and keep your device and Apple ID secure.
• Use Fern for your own pets and lawful purposes only.
• Don't copy, resell, reverse-engineer, or misuse the app or website.

Subscriptions and billing

Fern offers a free tier and paid plans (Plus, Premium, and a Lifetime option). Paid subscriptions are sold and billed by Apple through the App Store. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage or cancel a subscription anytime in your Apple ID settings; deletion of the app does not cancel a subscription.

Waitlist offer

The launch promotion — six months of Premium free for the first 100 people to join the waitlist — is limited in quantity and time, available while supplies last, and may be changed or withdrawn before launch. Eligibility is determined by waitlist signup order.

Your content and data

The information you add to Fern is yours. It is stored on your device and in your iCloud, as described in our Privacy Policy. You are responsible for maintaining your own backups through Apple's iCloud.

Intellectual property

The Fern name, app, website, and their design and content are owned by Fern and protected by applicable law. These terms don't grant you any rights to our trademarks or branding.

Disclaimers and liability

Fern is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Fern is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for any decisions made based on information in the app. Nothing in these terms limits rights that cannot be limited under applicable law.

Changes

We may update these terms as the service evolves. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised terms.
